Melanie Subon lahir di Hamburg, Jerman yang memulai karirnya di dunia musik dengan memilih jalur rock yang ia yakini sebagai media kuat untuk menyampaikan pesan. Selain bermusik, Melanie juga merambah dunia akting, produksi film, presenter, hingga menulis buku . Melanie Subono sangat dikenal karena perannya yang kuat sebagai seorang aktivis yang vokal dan bergerak nyata. Baginya, aktivisme dan seni berjalan beriringan . Melanie mendirikan Rumah Harapan Melanie pada tahun 2006, sebuah gerakan sosial yang fokus pada penggalangan dana dan bantuan untuk kebutuhan medis, pendidikan, serta kasus kemanusiaan bagi orang-orang yang membutuhkan. Pada kesempatan kali ini Melanie merilis single berjudul 'SATU' yang dipopulerkan band Superglad pada 2007 lalu. Kala itu, ‘SATU' ditulis untuk penyemangat mereka yang pada zamannya banyak menderita HIV/Aids. Untuk mereka tetap berjuang meski telah melakukan kesalahan. Melanie mengaku merasa agak tricky saat membuat juga membawakan lagu 'SATU'. Karena baginya lagu ini sudah sering dibawakan dengan berbagai versi sehingga ia harus membuat sesuatu yang beda.
